Heartbeat of the nature
Beyond its aesthetic allure, the forest holds profound importance in our society, with far-reaching ecological, economic, and social implications. Recognizing its pivotal role in human well-being, I sought to convey its essence through a tangible model, designed to engage and educate.
When I delved into the world of infographics, I found inspiration in Fernando Baptista's work, particularly intrigued by the spatial transmission of information. This fascination led me to integrate similar principles into my own projects.
My journey began with sketching out the model's structure, laying the groundwork for what would become a detailed representation of a forest landscape. Utilizing modeling clay and polystyrene, I meticulously crafted the framework, accentuating it with a pond formed from epoxy resin. The infusion of hand-drawn illustrations brought the infographic to life, capturing the essence of the forest's significance.
Endometriosis - the invisible disease
Endometriosis, a chronic condition affecting at least 10% of women globally and 2–4 million in Germany, is often overlooked and misunderstood. Despite its prevalence, symptoms are frequently dismissed as typical menstrual discomfort.
In my journey, persistent pelvic pain led me to explore the possibility of endometriosis, eventually leading to diagnosis and treatment.Through research and experimentation, I crafted an analog pop-up book using Copic fineliners, watercolors, and colored pencils. This book, coupled with a stop-motion video edited in Procreate and After Effects, aims to raise awareness and sensitivity towards endometriosis, particularly among sufferers and their families, by showcasing recognizable symptoms and experiences. The video is shared on YouTube for its broad audience reach.
